Designed by Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects, the Beach house is situated on Florida beach, Perth, Western Australia and has been finished couple of months ago. The design is centered and focused on the vast Indian Ocean. All the space is aligned and extruded through a strict dialogue between the plan and section, showing the intensity and variety of the beautiful ocean.
This is a modern holiday home just an hour from the capital of Western Australia, surrounded by the sprawling suburb of Perth. A cover is created in each of the cardinal points allowing the occupants to live abroad at any time of year.
The undulating section form is made in relation to plants, each room including a ripple finally revealed from the beach as a series of waves that connect the living spaces, dining room and kitchen to the dynamic marine environment. The section is extruded from the beach to the side of the street. These spaces don’t have a direct ocean view, but bring in the memory the ocean view through the continuous section.
