In Pacific Palisades, near Los Angeles, California, Ehrlich Architects has designed the Carrillo Residence, a house that meets all the needs a young family with two children has. The house is built to take advantage of the privileged view and the mild climate affects the coloristic of the interior, as we can see only warm and bright colors.
The outdoor space is divided in two, creating a formal and an informal space. The formal space has an outdoor dining table, with barbecue and infinity-edge pool. For children and family activities, the informal space provides sunny space to be used for playing and having fun. The floor-to-ceiling windows let the interior be connected to the both areas outside.
Overall, there are two floors. The ground level hosts the kitchen and the living room, having a wood ceiling. Upstairs, there are the master bedroom and children’s bedroom, with a play area that can be transformed in a third bedroom, if needed.
